Secondary Wildfire Smoke Damage Assessment

Gold Health and Safety has conducted numerous assessments for damage from secondary wildfire smoke.  Our clients for this service have included insurance companies, property management firms, building owners, attorneys, public adjusters, and individual homeowners.  We follow the AIHA guidelines for secondary wildfire smoke damage assessment.

Sampling includes both air samples, and surface samples for smoke residues.  All assessment and sampling is conducted under the direction of an ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienist.  All samples are analyzed by independent, AIHA certified laboratories.

Often, insurance companies will cover decontamination of a residence that has been demonstrably affected by secondary wildfire smoke.  It’s usually best to check with your insurance company prior to making independent arrangements. 

Post-Fire Soil Metals Testing

We provide soil testing for heavy metals contamination (Title 22 Metals and Mercury) to meet California requirements for clearance prior to rebuilding or property reuse.  We use appropriately certified labs and perform this work at a reasonable, fixed labor rate in order to provide this service at an economical price for those that have suffered from wildfire losses.
